On a recent visitto my wife's sister in Tn we were fascinated by the hummingbirds. We saw one in our yard a couple of years ago. We keep a feeder in hopes they will show up. We probably took a million pics (well, not quite a million)

There's always a group of pickers and singers gathered at one end.

Tree Surgery

We had an oak removed this morning and a couple of others trimmed.

It's amazing to me the way these guys climb the trees and drop limbs exactly where they want them

Easter Cross

This Cross was an idea my wife had to place in the foyer of our Church for Easter.

Fran and Sylvia helped her implement the idea. (I hauled the rocks)

It was so well received our Pastor wanted it left up during April.

My honey and I did our Spring planting of flowers in our yard.

I decided to take some pictures with my Minolta Dimage Z1.

They look pretty good for an inexpensive camera in the hands of a rank amateur.

Remembering Grandpa

When I see this satsuma tree blooming in our back yard, it reminds me of my Grandpa.

He has been gone qiute awhile but I still have fond memories of helping him pick fruit which he sold on the roadside in front of their home on state road 13 in Mandarin.

We couldn't visit him and Grandma during fruit season without taking home several bushels of fruit.

There was no way we could use all of it. Our neighbors enjoyed what we didn't use.

These aren't really good pictures, but you get the idea

The moon reminds me of a Christian. The moon reflects the light it gets from the sun, the Christian gets his/her light from the Son.

These pictures were taken when the world came between the sun and the moon, thus blocking the sun's light, resulting in a diminished reflection of light from the sun.

A Christian's light is diminished similarly when the world is allowed to eclipse the Son's Light.

Result: Christian's aren't much use to the Son when the world is in the way.

We got all the family together for pictures.

I wanted to get all the Grandkids in one picture so they will have equal time in my wallet.

It also reduces the thickness of said wallet.

I asked my son to blow the horn on his Chevy pickup so I could hear it. He has a bigger truck with an obviously louder horn. My idea was to get one like his and put it on my Colorado.

We discovered the last little bird deceased this morning. It has been somewhat educational. The parents did all they could do. They fed them. They made every effort to defend them. But when they saw there was nothing else they could do, they went back to doing what Mockingbirds do. They are foraging for food, they are making their music. It seems to me they continue to trust in the Heavenly Father in spite of what happened. We should do likewise when we encounter disappointments or losses we can't explain. After all, if we can't trust God, who can we trust?
